The Philippine Buddhist Youth Camp has traveled around the country – Manila, Cebu, Iloilo and Bacolod – since the 90s and continues to gather young people to offer them a learning cultural and spiritual experience.

This year 2012, the Camp takes on Venerable Master Hsing Yun’s “Love and Peace” theme to inspire the youth into facing daily life’s challenges with a kinder, brighter perspective. The camp will be conducted in Bacolod’s Fo Guang Shan-Yuan Thong Temple for 4 days.

March 30 (Friday)

• Morning Chanting

• Tai Chi and Yoga

• Workshops on Personal and Social Formation

• Buddhist Meditation

• Bonfire Night: Sharing of Young People’s Questions

April 1 (Sunday)

• One with the Earth: Outdoor Meditation and Nature Trek

• Picnic and Outdoor Games

• Outreach Challenge

• Jamming Night: Art, Music and Socializing

• Closing at 10:30PM

April 2 (Monday)

• Campers can start leaving after breakfast

• Option for Adventure Trip (stay behind for one day more)

Please indicate in your registration forms your planned travel dates to and from Bacolod, and if you would like to avail of the optional Adventure Trip on the last day of the camp.

Registration

The Philippine Buddhist Youth Camp is a non-profit event of the International Buddhist Progress Society, Manila and the Buddha’s Light International Association (BLIA) Philippines, co-organized by BLIA Young Adult Division (YAD). Registration fees are collected to cover costs of operation.

Registration fees:

• P3,500 – regular rate

• P2,500 – student rate (please present valid school ID)

• P1,000 – additional fee for the optional Adventure Trip: Includes packed lunch, transportation to and from excursion site and additional night lodging at temple

Open to ages 15-35, registration deadline is on March 20, 2012. Parental consent is required for campers below the age of 18.

• Accommodation at Yuan Thong Temple from Mar. 30-Apr. 2

• Transportation to outdoor locations during the camp

• Honorarium for guest speakers and performers

• Camp Kit: T-shirt, ID and handbook

• Other necessary camp materials

Please arrange your own:

• Travel to and from Bacolod Yuan Thong Temple (plane, ship, or bus – please inform us of your travel schedules)

• Pocket money for personal expenses and miscellaneous travel costs such as airport taxes or in-transit meals

• Necessary clothing, toiletries and personal effects
